Connecting with Others = New Business Opportunities

Share

Today we are going to show you how to connect with new businesses/people on Facebook and on LinkedIn. Networking and connecting is vital to social media marketing. If you aren’t connected to anyone, who will see what you post? And who will be your next new customer? Why wait?

FACEBOOK
Step 1: In the search bar at the top of the page, start typing in a city and follow it with the word for your industry, ie: “nightclub” or “real estate” etc. You’ll find business owners/real estate agents you are not connected to that will show up in the drop down. Click on one and check out their page.

Step 2: Post a note on their wall, ask a relevant question and have an action for them, such as asking them to like you back:

“Hi Cory! How is business in Omaha? (PS: like me back?)”
“Carrie, how is business in Denver? I’m always looking to connect with other salon owners in other towns. Just liked your page!”

LINKEDIN
Step 1: Go to the search box at the top of the page – upper right corner. Type in the word for your industry and find a name in the drop down list and click on it. This usually brings up someone who is within a few degrees of separation from you – in other words, you know the same people!

Step 2: Time to make an introduction. Scroll down their profile and notice in the right hand column if you have any connections in common or group memberships.

Step 3: Click on “Connect”:

Step 4: Send a note!

ALL DONE!.
